- The Great Commission: Jesus' final words

Mathew 28: 16-20
Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Luke 24: 44-49
He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”


Mark 16: 15-18
He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”
John 20: 19-23

As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him. 

                          *Not only follow, but also listen.
                          *There's a cost to leaving what we have.
                          *Follow immediately.

Be: You Must Become one before you can make them.

This doesn't happen on its own.

                          *Live like Jesus
                          *Share the gospel/good news

The Gospel
                          1.) God is love!
                                *and holy.
                          2.) Sin is the problem!
                                *We're not perfect.
                          3.) Jesus is the answer!
                                *He died to save us.
                                *He's the only way.
                          4.) Faith is the key!
                                *We receive through Christ, not through works.

It's more than just evangelism.

                          *It's a process, so you don't have to know it all.

                               - You need to learn to love it
                               - and have self discipline to read even when you don't feel like it.
