The Difference it Will Make

Taking the bus isn't exactly the most pleasant experience, but it's not too bad. Unless of course you have to run to get there in time, and then you sit there waiting and hoping that you didn't miss it.
I may have done this. More than once.
And then there's nothing worse than a cranky bus driver. You're trusting this person with your life, and it seems like they have a case of road rage before they even start driving. Awesome.

BUT, every once in a while, you'll run into a bus driver who actually greets you as you get on, then he asks how you are, and chats while you pay. And it's such a great experience. You'd think that it wouldn't make a such a difference, yet it puts a smile on your face.
I can't imagine that being a bus driver is really the greatest job. I don't think I've ever met a kid who says "when I grow up, I want to be a bus driver," but these guys are making the best of it. They have the power to make someone's day, and they choose to go out of their way to do so.

That's what I want to do. I want to make people smile in our brief time together.
Even if I'm a bus driver.
