Recently I spent the weekend at the Consumed Conference in Comox at
Nothgate Foursquare Church. I took a lot of notes and learned a lot of
interesting stuff. So this is the first of a 4 part series that's just
my notes from this conference.
We had a great speaker from
Seattle, Mark Venti. The 1st, 2nd, and 4th parts of this series are
notes from his sermons. Part 3 is from a workshop that was taught by
someone else, who's name escapes me.
I hope that this information impacts you the way it has impacted me.
The Life of The Party
Consumed. Friday Night.
Mark Venti
John 8: 12
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
- Often when people tell you who they are they're sharing more of who they want to be than who they already are.
*But when Jesus tells who He is it's who He is now, not who He wants to be.
-When Jesus said "I am the light of the world,"
it was shortly after The Festival of the Lights (A Jewish party
celebrating the light that God used to lead them in the dessert out of
Egypt.) So Jesus was essentially saying "I am the life of the party!"
Love it! Thanks for sharing!
