But after the fantasies fade, and I think about the day to day for these people, I can't imagine that it was actually that amazing in the moment. Sure there were moments of triumph where they were so on fire for their work, but there was also times of severe depression, jail time, isolation, and what can sometimes be even worse, nothingness. Moments where they felt nothing, and nothing was moving forward or backwards. Though in the broad scheme of things they were times of change, day to day it would've just been life.
I then begin to wonder about today. One day, are people going to be looking back at this time in history as a time of change? It just feels like life today, but maybe it's a great time of change.
I do feel something coming. I can see people taking a stand, saying "That's not okay. That needs to stop." So maybe it's not too late. Maybe I can work along side someone great today. Maybe I need to be supporting people that my great grand-kids will read about.
Because I do think there's something on the move.
Leeland Mooring is one of my heroes. Not only is he an amazing artist, but he's got a great heart for God and for justice. He also has a great passion for this generation. Him and I both believe that this generation can leave a mark, that we can leave this world for the better. I'd love to sit down with him one day to chat about the people of today, but for now, I just listen to him speak, and listen to his music to be reminded that today could be that amazing time of change, and I'm not the only one who thinks so.
I chose to share this song specifically because there's also a really neat story to it. I'm not going to relay the whole thing here, but you should look it up.
